Thermal Simulation/Analysis/ Management/Design Engineer – Night Shift

• Our company  is seeking an Electro-Mechanical /Thermal Simulation/Analysis/ Management & Design Engineer to join our team.

• Liquid Cold Plates, Heat Sinks, Heat Pipes, Fans, Assemblies and other devices used to manage temperature in computer, networking, and industrial electronic systems, green energies, medical electronics, traction / E-mobility and more.

• Many customers also take advantage of our custom metal fabrication capability. Being globally cost competitive in the thermal management product area has also allowed us to help customer consolidate their vendor base for custom metal fabrication such as machining, extrusions, castings, forging, stamping etc. This also includes requirement for various finishes even when cosmetics are critical.

About The Position

• The successful candidate will be involved in many different customer applications, with the goal of supporting the sales team to gain new orders/business with existing and new customers.

They will support the sales team by: 

• Reviewing Thermal designs and make recommendations to improve manufacture-ability, reduce costs, and/or increase performance.
• Collaborating with customers at the concept generation and early design stage to create a manufacture-able and functional product, often pushing technological boundaries and bringing ideas from the drawing board to the production ready state. Help customers resolve thermal and other related problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors such as cost, quality, reliability, manufacture-ability, impact to schedule, and process improvement
• Develop thermal management solutions in a CAD environment and ensure it meets target performance through CFD simulation.  Designs related to complex thermal optimization.
• Develop the most efficient, yet sufficiently thorough method of solving problems.
• Participate in internal staff meetings and customer meetings to resolve quality and production issues.
• Manage production team by establishing quality standards, creating test plans, and devising effective corrective actions.

About The Candidate

1- A requirement includes working the same time zone as our 

• Office team in Canada: 85-90% of the time
• Production team in China: 10-15% of your time. This will be via on line web meetings.

2- Fluent in English is a must 

Ideally the candidate will have: 

• A Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with experience in thermal analysis, simulation, design, management, heat transfer and fluid dynamics.
• Full understanding of thermal management concepts, including flow architecture, heat rejection methods which includes a thorough understanding of heat sinks, heat pipes and vapor chambers, fans, blowers, and nontraditional air movers. A deep technical and functional expertise in conduction, convection (passive and active).
• Experience with custom metal design and production is an asset
• A strong first principle background of heat transfer and therm-fluids, with the ability to think creatively and devise novel solutions to complex, multi- discipline design problems
• 10+ years of experience in cooling systems development and thermal component design.
• Hands-on experience of cooling system components such as cooling fans, sensors, pumps, valves or Liquid-to-liquid heat ex-changers
• Proficiency in the use of 3D CAD tools such as Solidworks.
• Hands on experience the use of Solidworks thermal simulation and other simulation package.
• Strong communication skills.
• The successful candidate will demonstrate an excellent understanding of thermal and fluid systems and a track record of delivering when in difficult positions. Persistent attention to detail is required.
• You should be someone who thrives in ambiguity and leads your own projects to completion.
• You are experienced in delivering effective output without sufficient input.
• Your strong thermal and validation engineering technical background with product development knowledge including thermal engineering and related manufacturing processes, are important.
