Description:
  • 1.Specimens receipt from the pre-analytical area in regular defined time intervals
  • 2. Scanning the received samples on LDM
  • 3. Rejecting wrong specimens according to the unit rejection criteria & delivery of the rejection records to be given to the customer service for client notification
  • 4. Perform tests included in the unit scope of service, and authorized by the unit head according to the degree of individual’s education, training, experience& technical abilities.
  • 5. Conduct automated molecular analysis for Blood specimens & body fluid.
  • 6. Follow the laboratory’s Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) for the different Molecular diagnostics unit specimen handling, transportation, processing &reporting
  • 7. Run Quality controls for the different tests according to the unit Quality control policy & in accordance with the CAP requirements.
  • 8. Prompt trouble shooting for the Q.C results out of limit.
  • 9. Assess the accuracy and validity of obtained test results.
  • 10. Dealing with LDM manual verification page according to the medical rules approved by the head of unit.
  • 11. Keeping work surfaces clean and orderly arranged.
  • 12. Perform the required Maintenance activities ( Daily, Weekly, monthly as applicable )
  • 13. Troubleshoot instruments and resolves technical problems whenever possible, documents corrective action, and reports problems to the supervisor
  • 14. Monitoring of temperature to the related instrument as assigned by the unit supervisor.
  • 15. Actively participates in the analyses of CAP PT samples
  • 16. Adjust, maintain and clean medical laboratory equipment’s with documentation.
  • 17. Record the manual calculated results in the related work sheet ,
  • 18. Recognize abnormal/ unusual results to clarify or confirm.
  • 19.Maintain all records ( test results , Q.C, Maintenance, Temperature monitoring Log……..etc) according to the unit record retention time policy
  • 20. Ensure that supplies are available; notifies unit supervisors whenever problem discovered).
  • 21. Notifies unit supervisor when difficulties arise that may delay testing for taking proper action.
  • 22. Responsible for post analytical specimen’s storage according to the unit specimen’s retention time.
  • 23. Responsible for all quality and safety activities related to his job.
  • 24. Perform other duties as assigned by Unit Head or Supervisor
Qualifications:
  • Work requires a basic science background normally acquired through a health care institute (DMLT).
