Description: Occupation Summary:Plan, direct and coordinate the organisation’s financial strategy and activities in consultation with senior management. Responsible for the financial reporting of the organisation. Represent the organisation externally in finance-related matters.Monitor performance:Monitor the performance of the finance function and its staff, ensuring sufficient training, addressing process and performance deficiencies and reporting on performance to the CEO.Manage budget:Oversee the development of the function’s budget and ensure it is adhered to. Report and explain any deviations.Develop strategy:Develop finance, risk management and treasury strategies, objectives and standards in line with the organisation’s overall strategy and objectives.Develop the financial strategy in line with the organisation’s overall goals and objectives. Determine financial needs, return requirements and risk appetite.Represent the organisation:Represent the organisation externally in finance-related matters. Maintain and build relations with shareholders, the investing public and other members of the financial industry.Lead function:Lead the finance function. Oversee the execution of the organisation’s financial strategy and provide guidance and instructions to senior management.Manage to report:Manage to report of the organisation’s financial status and results. Manage processes for budget preparation, follow-up and control. Ensure effective controls are in place for compliance with accounting standards and reporting regulations.Manage risks:Manage risk assessment and mitigation activities within the organisation for financial, operational, regulatory and other risks.Manage operations:Manage and oversee financial operations such as forecasting, budgeting and performance reviews. Manage accounting, budgeting and financial reporting.Manage assets and liabilities:Manage and control the organisation’s financial assets and liabilities such as investments, cash and loans.Develop policies:Develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Oversee their implementation.
