Summary: The technical office engineer oversees the technical review, evaluation, design modifications and execution of steel and aluminum structures projects. He/She also interfaces with customers and their engineers and consultants to ensure customer requirements are fully understood and incorporated in customer quotes and designs. 

Job description: 

Tasks: 

  • Reviews preliminary designs, RFQs and BOQs related to customer projects to ensure feasibility and adequacy.
  • Collaborates with site survey teams to ensure site’s adequacy for the required project. 
  • Reviews and modifies product designs to meet individual customer expectations, and site requirements. 
  • Prepares shop drawings, follows up drawings, comments and quotations.
  • Calculates weights and load resistance for aluminum and steel structures as needed. 
  • Prepares manufacturing drawings and oversee the manufacturing process to ensure accuracy and compliance to drawing requirements. 

Communications:            Internal: Sales Department, Factory Personnel 

                                             External: Customer engineers and consultants

Work environment: Indoor/Outdoor 

 

Qualifications:

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering- Civil or Architecture, and 3-5 Years of experience in relevant work experience. A different mix of education and experience may be considered.
  •  
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • 3D Modeling is a plus (3D Max, Sketchup)
  • Additional skills: Reliability, communication, self-motivation, creativity.
