Description:

Vessels Planning

  • Receive Vessels details from the commercial team of the required services (Stevedoring, Storage & Transportation)
  • Assist and propose Plan Manpower, equipment & cash required for external transactions in order to operate the vessel as per customers’ contract ( Stevedoring rates & damaged cargo) 

Yards Planning

  • Assure the implementation of staffing plans and Optimize the utilization of the yards (Open yards & sheltered warehouses) depending on the type & quantity of  cargo
  • Plan temp yards rentals from port authority, if required 
  • Minimize cost item related to temp yards & storage operations
  • Ensure best setup of each yard to minimize moves (shifting) of cargo
  • Consider safety of cargo, employees & assets while setting up yards layouts
  • Monitor yard utilization & take necessary actions to redesign yards layouts, if needed

Cargo Operations

  • Co-Deliver stevedoring rates promise to customers
  • Ensure Vessels operations adequacy with environmental guidelines
  • Ensure minimizing the risk of damaging cargo along operations
  • Implement efficient handling process according to standard procedures
  • Ensure safe handling while custom clearing, stuffing, de-stuffing, loading & discharging
  • Attend all draft surveys & monitor surveyors reports on regular basis (draft, cargo, cargo storage & loading/ discharging) 

Reporting 

  • Participate in monthly business review
  • Ensure real time update for Port Manager dashboard

Third Party Interactions

  • Putting contingency plan though third party supplier whenever required
  • Maintain a database of trucking, equipment handling, surveyors & labor contractors
  • Maintain a good relationship with all authorities (Customs, Police & Port authorities

Managerial responsibilities

  • Managing the performance of the operations teams
  • Plan & monitor for annual operations budget 
  • Follow-up on  daily operations to ensure efficient operations
  • Coach & Mentor supervisors to grow and deliver best outcome
Qualifications:
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience 
  • Prior experience in port stevedoring
  • Bachelor Degree 
  • Additional certification in Heavy lift certificate
  • Port Operations certificate 
  • Computer literate
    • ERP
    • Microsoft office
  • Very good English ( Written & Spoken)
