The Role

• You will be getting your hands dirty from day 1 on multiple projects. You will be working on a variety of technologies on both the front and back end whilst integrating with other 3rd party services.

Key Responsibilities 

• Working closely with directors to streamline current systems, implement new technology & improve processes
• Working with the technical team to analyse, develop, test, document and maintain our web-based software
• Working with various web technologies to develop and maintain the OctopusPro web-based software
• Write clean, maintainable and efficient code
• Resolve in a timely manner, problems that arise with existing features to ensure the efficient and proper functioning of the software
• Optimising software and managing server resources

What skills you will need;

• A degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
• 3-10 years experience programming in PHP
• Experience with Zend Framework, Laravel or similar frameworks
• REST / API experience
• Strong knowledge in HTML, CSS, API, JavaScript
• Strong SQL experience, preferably using MySQL
• Experience with MongoDB
• Solid understanding of object oriented programming
• Experience creating diagrams and documentation
• Strong knowledge of modern Javascript frameworks
• Experience using Git version control like Bitbucket or GitHub
• Amazon EC2, AWS is good to have but not essential
• Strong English is written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in web application/software development
