SRE & Support Engineer – Cairo

Position

• Cegedim.cloud is a department of the Cegedim group, which provides its customers with Cloud services (virtual machines, load balancing, storage, etc.) managed through a CMP (Cloud Management Platform) and APIs. With datacenters in several continents and a best of breed infrastructure.
• Cegedim.cloud seeks to support it in its growth an engineer to monitor and maintain the automation of its infrastructures and systems. Reporting to the SRE manager, he will work in a dynamic, passionate and innovative team of developers and systems engineers specializing in automation.

Missions

• Monitor and maintain the automation building blocks of infrastructure and systems
• Ask customers targeted questions to quickly understand the root of the problem
• Talk clients through a series of actions, either via email or chat, until they’ve solved a technical issue
• Properly escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams
• Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers
• Work jointly with developers and other systems teams while respecting the DevOps culture
• Follow up with clients to ensure their IT systems are fully functional after troubleshooting
• Prioritize and manage several open issues at one time
• Prepare accurate and timely reports
• Document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals
• Ensure the quality of automation services

Experiences / Skills

• 2+ years in Linux and Windows systems administration
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Good understanding of computer systems
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic technical issues
• Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal
• Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux environments
• Good knowledge of scripting languages: Python, Bash, PowerShell…
• Knowledge of automation tools such as puppet, ansible, terraform
• Knowing Kubernetes is a plus
