Chief Accountant

• Maintains complete chart of accounts.
• Ensures sanctity of the GLs and their mapping in the accounting system.
• Ensures the completeness, the sanctity and accuracy of the fixed asset register.
• Coordinate with finance team to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines.
• Evaluate computerized accounting systems and provide recommendations to IT team for performance improvements.
• Perform financial analysis and reporting to management as needed.
• Perform month-end accounting activities such as reconciliations, adjustments, prepayments, provisions and journal entries.
• Coordinate with finance team to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines.
• Develop and maintain internal control and effective accounting system and policies for the set up.
• Work consultatively with the respective departments on opening and closing of GLs.
• Perform full set of accounts and ensure timely closing of accounts.
• Analyze financial discrepancies and recommend effective resolutions.
• Monitor expenditures, analyze revenues and determine budget variances and report the same to management.
• Respond to accounting inquiries from management in a timely fashion.
• Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for assigned accounts.
• Assist in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentations.
• Monitor and record financial transactions according to company policies and regulations.

Minimum Requirements

Education 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance (Preferably CPA, CMA or ACCA qualification)
