Technical Product Owner

Axis Pay is an Egyptian fintech company that builds digital products to help increase accessibility to payments, money transfers, savings, and digital access to credit. 

Our mission is to build a more accessible and equitable financial system for the over 100 million Egyptians with a particular focus on the 70 million unbanked Egyptians who have not been served by legacy institutions. 

We are an early-stage startup founded by a team with previous experience in Fintech in Egypt. Our founding team previously built Raseedy – Egypt’s first independent open loop wallet licensed by the Central Bank of Egypt.

About the Role

You will join a cross functional team building the heart of our product, the core platform. You will interact with internal and external stakeholders to discover, validate, and ship new features and improvements that would help us with our mission to shape the future of financial inclusion.

You will … 

• Play a key role in understanding the high-level architecture of our core platform, maintain and develop it further.
• Engage with customers, stakeholders, and regulators to understand product pain points, opportunities and craft a roadmap around, with an iterative execution approach. 
• Work closely with the Product Leadership to align on product strategy and drive internal roadmaps accordingly.
• Own and execute on the product life cycle together with your cross-functional team from start to finish iteratively. 
• Be the subject matter expert and owner for the Axis Pay core platform.
• Develop, practice and exercise Agile scrum with your team.
• Work with your team to develop your OKRs and make sure they are aligned with the product level OKRs

• 5+ years of experience with at least 3+ years in a product role.
• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering or similar relevant field
• A strong understanding of Fraud or Regulatory Compliance.
• Proven experience in leading product squads.
• Excellent English fluency (spoken and written).
• Deep understanding of product with a high drive for meeting customer needs.
• Data driven, detailed oriented with good command of analytics understanding
• Experience managing technical software products from ideation to delivery
• Shipped products in a cross-functional team through an agile environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a strong ability to easily convey complex solutions.
• The ability to turn incomplete, conflicting, or ambiguous inputs into solid action plans.
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of how product changes impact our goals.
• Strong understanding of different tools used in the product life cycle (Figma, JIRA, Confluence, Slack etc)
• Since this role will be heavily engaged in technical topics, software development experience is a plus (ideally 2+ years of experience).
• Experience with building fintech products is a plus.
