SITE – Onsite Cloudera Admin

Strategic responsibilities:

·   As a Cloudera Administrator, your primary responsibility responsible for assisting with the design, architecture, implementation, and on-going support of Hadoop clusters

·   Promotes good implementation best practices and the management of applications data on Cloudera, utilizing Cloudera features.

·   Through a deep understanding of big data systems, specifically Cloudera you should be able to enhance existing data streams and recommend the correct development approaches for the application team.

Core responsibilities:

·   Planning the cluster, deciding on the number of nodes based on the estimated amount of data the
    cluster is going to serve

·   Installing and upgrading Cloudera cluster components.

·   Configuring and tuning Cloudera clusters using the various configuration files available within Hadoop

·   An understanding of all the Hadoop daemons along with their roles and responsibilities in the cluster

·   Experience in debugging and interpreting logs to define current or potential issues in the environment

·   Scaling the cluster as needed and do the required tuning and configurations to meet the scalability
     needs

·   Employ security using an authentication and authorization system such as Kerberos

·   Responsible for backing up the systems and recover the system in case of failures

·   Should have solid experience in handling Linux processes and dealing with Linux systems in general

·   Good understanding of infrastructure architecture

·   Experience in handling storage and networking and systems operations

·   Strong written and verbal communications, teamwork, and problem-solving skills are necessary

·   Ability to work independently and effectively communicate within the team and other teams.

·   Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment

·   A reliable and trustworthy person, able to anticipate and deal with the varying needs and concerns of numerous stakeholders adapting personal style accordingly.

·   Adaptable and knowledgeable who is able to learn and improve his skills with existing and new technologies.

Experience:

3-5 years of experience at minimum.
