Description:	Duties and Responsibilities Abides by the Medical Staff Bylaws, Code of Medical Ethics, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff, and those specific to the department. Provides the highest attainable standard of medical care for the patients for whom he/she is responsible. Carries out a full range of inpatient and outpatient clinical duties as assigned by the Director/Head of department/division per individually approved clinical privileges. Participates in the on-call duties as required by the department/division. To initiate and organize prospective trials and studies on currently important topics, with a view to publication. Participates in the improvement of quality of patient care (Total Quality Medicine Programme, Quality Assessment Improvement Programme) as applicable. Instructs and guides, when necessary, junior medical staff in the overall care of patients, supervises their performance/work, and contributes to the training and teaching activities in the department. Reports and discuss all unusual findings, complication or alterations in the management plan, with the Senior Registrar and Consultant. Fulfills the requirement of the Saudi Council for Health Specialties about continuing medical education. Works towards completing his post-graduate training and passing the Final Part of fellowship or Saudi Board. Attends the Continuing Medical Education Program of the department. Participates in approved research projects. Shares workload in his specialty during the absence of his colleagues. Acquire and maintain a valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Strives to improve his clinical expertise as well as the standard of practice concerning morbidity and cost-effectiveness. Participates in the Major Disaster Plan of the hospital, as indicated. Participates in CQI&PS system improvement activities, system control activities, and staff development activities. Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills, and abilities, within the hospital and/or affiliated medical facilities. EDUCATION AND/OR LICENSE:Essential: Certificate from 3rd(Pls. refer to the annexure of this job description as determined by SCFHS). SCFHS Registration and Accreditation. Valid license from country of origin.
Qualifications:	Must have a broad field of knowledge and advanced procedural skills often including surgical interventions, trauma resuscitation, advanced cardiac life support, and advanced airway management. Excellent team player. Excellent communication to both English and Arabic language and interpersonal skills. Ability to make decisions quickly and tolerate risk. Flexibility and ability to cope with the constantly varying workloads. Ability to manage life-threatening injuries and illnesses. Self-motivated and with awareness of current trends in the field.
