Compact is seeking a full-time emerging professional Electrical Draftsman to join our office in New Cairo. We are looking for team players who are excited about working in an innovation-rich construction environment focused on introducing novel approaches to construction.

What Does This Role Involve?

As part of a dynamic, multi-skilled, and small team, your responsibilities as Electrical BIM Engineer

• Create accurate, detailed technical plans for electrical networks using computer-aided design programs to convert specifications and design information into schematics and blueprints.
• Collect, study, and combine rough sketches and initial design ideas into coherent technical drafts for further study and review by project managers
• Prepare comprehensive wiring and layout diagrams for electrical equipment, power substations and residential and commercial buildings according to project objectives, design information and engineering specifications
• AutoCAD Drafting of complete Electrical works including small power, lighting layout, power layout, fire alarm, telephone, access control, CCTV, MATV, lightning protection, and other works like Quantity take off.
• Prepare engineering drawings (Shop Drawings, Builders Works Drawings, MEP Coordination Drawings, “AS-Built” Drawings, etc.), that details plans and specifications, and bills of materials. Drawings include physical design such as cable tray, raceway/conduits, lighting, and grounding as well as single line diagrams and schematics/wiring diagrams.
• Create detailed 2D and 3D (Revit MEP) models of electrical content.
• Check that final technical drafts include all relevant information in an easy-to-read format, and verify that calculations, measurements, and units are accurate based on initial design information from engineers
• Review technical drafts as needed according to verbal or written instructions from project managers, engineering team, consultants, and clients.

What Are We Looking for in a Candidate?

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or technical college
• 4+ years of electrical construction experience with working knowledge in medium-to-mega construction projects.
• Proficient with MS Office, AutoCAD (2D & 3D), Revit MEP & Electrical specialized software.
• Ability to work well in a team and on your own.
• Ability to respond well to criticism and maintain a positive attitude.
