Description: Manages first line staff within the same section to meet short and medium term objectives. To provide Supervisory support and oversee operations of Butchery department. When needed this position would have to oversee operations of other sections under fresh food department when section manager or supervisor is on leave. The job involves also training and orientation of staff and ensuring compliance with the policy and health and safety guidelines of the store. Performs many functions as well in achieving productivity.
Internal:
  • This is a fast paced sales environment with relatively stable process that needs to be adhered. The work environment will contain short expiry date products
External:
  • Customer centric environment with low margin of error considering a tough competitive environment and the high cost of rework
  • Will be governed by various health and safety legislations
  • Products been handled and disposed after expiry would be closely inspected and monitored by relevant department head

This role will have the authority to make operations related decisions of Butchery section which will positively improve productivity, efficiencies and quality, however will need to consult with the department head on any such decisions related to strategic matters. This role’s decisions would have financial implications of the section i.e. purchasing of Butchery related products from various parts of the world, negotiation with suppliers, mark-up price, and turnover of the section.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate in Degree Retail or Hospitality
  • Have a strong communication skills
  • Strong computer skills required with knowledge in MS Word, Excel and GOLD retail system
  • Language Speaking: (English, French and Basic Arabic).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in retail or hospitality in supervising role
  • Ability to delegate, supervise and evaluate workings of subordinates
  • Must be able to interact with all levels of management
