Description:
  • Monitor and update Company’s Corrosion Management Strategy, Policy & Procedures on a continuous basis 
  • Develop and implement long-term plans for managing corrosion issues of organization’s assets and asset systems by way of specific and measurable objectives.
  • Assume responsibility for overall corrosion monitoring and control in plant.
  • Effectively monitor and maintain various corrosion control systems including Cathodic protection systems / COATING / PAINTING / CHEMICAL TREATMENT/ CRA (corrosion resistant alloy) with an aim to optimize main costs and prolong equipment life. 
  • Interfacing with connected Engineering Functions to solve prevailing corrosion problems 
  • Review existing cathodic protection system’s design, highlight problems and suggest improvements. 
  • Review and propose solutions for coating failures and other forms of corrosion
  • For new projects, shall review project specification, design packages, metallurgy of equipment’s / piping and validate materials selection based on current code and standards.
  • Reviews operating conditions of various equipment’s / unit operations to access and monitor corrosive condition and evaluates the material performance in all corrosive systems.
  • Shall carry out corrosion related failure analysis / investigations in order to enhance safety and integrity of the plant. 
  • After plant turnarounds, shall analyze all inspection observations from corrosion prevention point of view and make necessary recommendations.
  • Reviews the existing corrosion monitoring tools and advises upgrading as required
  • Carries out on-site metallography using replica techniques, evaluates microstructure condition and issue report
  • Provides work guidance to inspection Engineers and Inspectors 
  • Conduct risk-based inspection based on API-580 methodology.
  • Participate in HAZOP review sessions and ensure that all issues are addressed.
  • Devise and monitor corrosion monitoring programs / corrosion monitoring devices (coupons/probes) etc. Recommend and manage specialist services as necessary (Microbiological surveys, failure investigations, etc)
  • Review and monitor pipeline corrosion management (scraping/ILI)
  • Participate in the testing & commissioning of new facilities and Turnaround and Inspection (T&I)
