| Description: | This position is for an experienced Sr, Oracle Database Administrator and will be responsible for all aspects of database administration with major emphasis on database and SQL tuning. The candidate will provide guidance to application development teams in order to assist them in designing and developing applications and SQL that perform efficiently in the database. Oracle DBA who will be responsible for Application Server Management. Performs all aspects of data and database administration including installation, backup, recovery, Database tuning, capacity planning. Application server management including installation, deployment of new applications, configuration, application tuning, work with developers and architects. Design and develop mission-critical Oracle databases and applications; administer database and application performance and functions; analyze user requirements, data, and data flow; define user objectives, business process flow, and technical specifications; develop packages, screens, and reports; perform data modelling; prepare diagrams; develop application programming interface for data manipulation; perform database cloning and upgrade. Duties and Responsibilities: • Collaborate with Data Analyst & Architects, Developers and Quality Analyst on the physical database design and implementation • Work directly with development groups helping design SQL to interact efficiently with the database • Operating System tuning and management • projects in an ongoing manner • Performance Monitoring and Tuning: Monitoring and Performance Tuning on Physical Server Level, Database level (Database settings and options) and query tuning , memory settings, monitoring CPU usage and Disk I/O activity • Data Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL): Archive and maintain the history data, extract the archived data and make it available to the business. • Business Intelligence Development Studio: Develop business solutions that include Analysis Services, Services projects. • Disaster recovery implementations • Security Administration for specific application access and user access • Assist with database capacity planning • RAC (Real Application Clusters) • Experience with data modelling and database design • Develops database objects and structures for data storage, retrieval and reporting according to project specifications. • Develops and implements complex data models and logical database designs. • Plans and conducts structured testing of database designs to confirm functionality and performance. • Develops and implements plans to oversee the data and database administration function, and ensures smooth transition to new technology. • Performs routine and customary operational and monitoring activities to ensure database integrity, stability, availability and capable of meeting ongoing business needs. • Plans and executes testing and implementation of major systems. • Evaluates technology and techniques to implement and maintain databases and database environment. • Develops, implements and tests backup and recovery plans and infrastructure. • All other duties as assigned. |
